Rihanna Keeps Chicago Students Waiting 4 Hours For Her

Rihanna arrived four hours late for a charity at Barrington High School in Chicago after the school won a charity competition for her appearance.

Around 2,500 pupils waited in the gymnasium to catch a glimpse of Rihanna, who reportedly only stayed smiling for photographs and signing autographs for 16 minutes upon arrival.

According to the Chicago Tribune, RiRi was due to meet the pupils, who won the contest by submitting a video for her track ‘Diamonds’ which highlighted the school’s charitable work, at 1pm but failed to arrive until 5pm. The singer blamed her tardiness on traffic and tweeted: “This Chicago traffic is not working.”

Student Patricia Halle, who nicknamed the day “the survive Rihanna event”, said: “It’s one thing to be fashionably late. This is just rude. Our lives don’t revolve around a pop star. Our school worked hard to win this. She should be more respectful.”

Another pupil, Jaki Mora, added: “Rihanna is pathetic. She shouldn’t be making us wait for her.” However, when the ‘We Found Love’ singer finally arrived she was reportedly greeted with “wild applause and Beatlemania-type screaming”.

Principal Steve McWilliams said Rihanna, who barely acknowledged her lateness when she finally arrived at the event, had apologised to him and gave him more tickets to be handed out to the pupils…
