Family Guy Labels Academy Voters "Overprivileged Brentwood Jews"

The Emmy campaign season is coming up and Seth MacFarlane’s Family Guy is up to its’ same old antics. Family Guy, best known for its crude jokes and viciously hilarious humor, continues that theme in their provocative mailers that were sent to TV Academy voters.

On their 2010 Emmy mailer, Peter Griffen was featured on the cover with the caption “Vote For Us, Or  You’re Racist.”  This year, again, Peter Griffen will serve as the politically incorrect spokesman addressing the TV Academy.  “Come on, you bloated, overprivileged Brentwood Jews. Let us into your little club,” the mailer reads.

Griffen is reffering to the very affluent neighboorhood in Los Angeles where powerful industry types live. Stewie, the baby on the show, added from inside the mailer, “It’s a secret ballot. You can still tell people you voted for Modern Family.

Family Guy is competing for the best comedy series category and not the best animated series, which MacFarlane opted to switch back in 2009. That year, Family Guy landed its first Best Comedy Series nomination, becoming the first animated series in 48 years to accomplish that.

On June 11th all nominating ballots will be posted on the TV Academy’s website. The deadline for all votes are at 5:00pm on August 31st.
