Rumors are flying about Universal and Montecito Pictures Company teaming up to develop the sequel to the 1988 hit comedy Twins, which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny Devito.
Wait, but there’s a twist! In the new scenario, Eddie Murphy would act as a third brother?!
Triplets will follow Schwarzenegger and DeVito as brothers Julius and Vincent, who then discover they have a third sibling.
The Hollywood Reporter says the project doesn’t have a director at this point, and that Ivan Reitman, (who directed the original), would only produce with his film company Montecito Pictures Company. Writers are currently being sought out to develop the script, even though discussions have yet to be made between Universal and Montecito.
All the original actors, plus Murphy, have already agreed to star in the film.
Universal is currently developing another sequel to the 1988 hit Midnight Run. The film will reunite its original stars Robert De Niro and Charles Grodin. Brett Ratner is set to direct that project.
