L.A. Reid has been spared from the X Factor chopping block, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The Epic Records chairman has reportedly signed on for Season 2 of The X Factor, just days after a shake-up resulted in host Steve Jones and judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger getting the boot.
The veteran music exec, who reportedly inked the deal on Friday, was among the talents who truly shined during the show’s first season. Reid’s frank and honest opinion of contestants, which resonated with the audience, may have won him a pass for the next season.
It’s still unknown who will join Reid and Simon Cowell at the judges’ table, or who will replace Jones, however, there has been some speculation in the direction of Beyoncé and Mariah Carey joining the X Factor staff.
Do you think it was a good choice to keep L.A. Reid? Who would you pick to replace Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger, and Steve Jones on X Factor this fall?
