VP Digital Ad Sales

Diamond Diaspora Media is looking for a VP of Digital Ad Sales who is excited about the opportunity to lead direct Ad sales for our digital property, AtlantaBlackStar.com (ABS).

The VP of Digital Ad Sales will lead and execute direct sales nationally. This person must be an experienced and innovative media sales professional helping to grow Atlanta Black Star revenues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

In addition to the essential job functions described below, all associates will perform duties as requested by management.

  • Grow the sites sales efforts with targeted clients
  • Communicating the value of the ABS and its content to agencies and advertisers.
  • Create and implementing brand strategies that resonate with Atlanta Black Star current and potential clients.
  • Nurture, support and build a national sales team for ABS.
  • Create comprehensive packages for ad agencies and direct advertisers to sell digital inventory, including mobile & video.
  • Participate in the Upfront and scatter negotiations with agencies/clients as needed.
  • Direct and foster revenue relationships at the client/marketing levels as well as with advertising agencies servicing and negotiating through both the account and media teams.
  • Will be a client-focused executive who has experience, and existing relationships, with clients as well as in the agency/media buying community.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Finance, BA or a related field, MBA preferred
  • 8+ years of media sales related experience
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in sales management
  • Ability to structure deals and develop strong client relationships as part of one the nation’s leading digital news and information site serving the professional African-American community.
  • Experience working as part of a successful sales or marketing organization and growing a business portfolio.
  • A track record of successfully increasing sales revenues or driving positive results.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and resilient attitude toward exceeding goals.
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in sales management
  • Must be willing to work hours needed to secure deals

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Previous sales experience with African-American targeted digital media property
  • Existing portfolio of fortune 1000 clients actively targeting the African-American consumer
