Ayesha Curry is trying a new look. On Oct. 18 the mom of three took to Instagram to post a boomerang of herself and husband Stephen Curry in which she debuted her new blond hair.
The caption read: “Mom goes blonde (temporarily).”
The couple stops for the candid moment in their vehicle with Stephen on the left throwing up a hand sign and smiling as Ayesha gives the camera a sexy stare down and smirk.
Comedian and “The Real” talk show co-host Loni Love commented, “I love the blonde” with several fire emojis. Dancehall artist Hoodcelebrityy wrote, “This color look dope on you sis so pretty.”
And while several fans agreed that Ayesha’s new look was gorgeous, many admitted that they had to do a double take before realizing it was her.
“I really said to myself: ‘who is this white woman with steph’ Lol forgive me,” one fan wrote. It turns out many people in the comments thought Ayesha looked Caucasian at first glance.
Another person said, “I thought this was a White woman. Lol didn’t even recognize you.”
Ayesha even had some people ready to throw hands with Steph because they “thought he was cheating at first.”
People wrote comments like, “I was wondering who this white woman was with Steph curry ahahhaha…..smh Im mad at myself. Was ready to fight for ayesha,” and “GIRL I was like, WHO is this with Steph and where’s Ayesha? I was mad for 0.4 seconds! You look great.”
It’s not clear whether some of the comments got to Ayesha or not, but shortly after posting her photo Stephen came to her defense, writing a personal message to her in the comments.
“You beautiful baby. And don’t you let anybody tell you differently ok? I mean it. There’s just a bunch of meanies out there and I don’t like it. I don’t like it one bit. Do you boo boo.”
Adding a little comedic relief, the Golden State Warriors guard continued, “P.S. If the wig falls off I won’t tell anybody, I promise. Pinky promise. It be hilarious though, but won’t anybody know. Wait-that’s been you in this bed the whole time??? I ain’t even know. Now I’m tripping.”
Ayesha saw the message and replied to him saying, “whyyyyyy are you like this?!!!! I can’t. Whyyyyy.”
