‘Keep Ya Head Up’: Cam’ron Speaks Out on the Passing of the ‘Love of his Life,’ Fans Show Support

The rapper Cam’ron posted a message about his girlfriend Tawasa Harris, who recently passed away. He also cleared up some confusion about who Harris was, since some reports stated that she was the mother of his son Cameron Ezike Giles Jr. But that’s not the case.

“First off I want to thank my family, friends and fans for their condolences, I really appreciate it,” wrote Cam’ron next to a photo of himself and Harris. “This is not my sons mother (my sons mother is fine) this is someone I went out with years ago, and we got back together a year and a half ago. And I had the best time of my life during that period.”

In recent years, the Dipset leader was linked to “Love & Hip Hop: New York’s” cast member Juju Castenenda, but he said Harris was his true love.

“She was the person I spent 3-4 nights a week with, the person I spoke to on the phone with 7-8 times a day, the person I fell asleep on the phone with, the person I spent all summer with, the person that I was planning thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and our birthdays with,” wrote Cam’ron about Harris.

“The person who put me on to hi-end fashion, my biggest supporter, the person that wouldn’t let u talk about me while she was around, I could go on and on,” he added. “But this was really the love of my life!!”

Toward the end of his message, Cam’ron said that even though he’s had a lot of people close to him pass away, Harris’ passing taught him that he’s not numb to death. And the Harlem rapper also said he chose to keep his relationship with her under wraps to avoid rumors and speculation.

It’s still unclear how Harris passed away, but her last Instagram post was on Nov. 16. And in her bio she called herself a “Female version of a hustler.”

Furthermore, in an Instagram post Cam’ron shared on June 23, 2018, he explained that he met Harris in the seventh grade and fell for her instantly.

In that same post, he also said she received an undergraduate degree from St. John’s University, in Queens, New York, and a graduate degree from Delaware State. They parted ways when the rapper was 26 years old, before reuniting years later.

“🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 Sorry for you loss Cam! Stay strong my condolences,” someone wrote under Cam’ron’s post.

😢🙏🏽❤️Rest in peace to your Queen, sending you love, prayers and light during this time 🙏🏽❤️😢 WE LOVE YOU‼️‼️” another commented

“Blessings Killa 🙌🏾 sorry for your loss my G keep ya head up ✊🏾🗣🖤 ” another person wrote, using one of Cam’ron’s monikers.
