‘Bigg Drip’: Angela Simmons Leaves Folks ‘Sick’ With Her Rakish Fashion

Angela Simmons, the daughter of Joseph “DJ Rev Run” Simmons, is letting folks know she’s a certified fashion maven.

The “Growing Up Hip Hop” star showcased her beauty and voguish fashion style to her six million followers and received a mass of compliments from her fans. She took to Instagram on Sunday and shared a photo of herself posted up in a parking garage wearing a pair of blue jeans, a white T-shirt, a pink faux fur coat, snakeskin thigh-high boots and a black baseball cap.

Flossing her casual chic style, Simmons posed fiercely and gazed at the camera in one of her photos. In another, she flossed her curvaceous figure and natural, non-filtered beauty. Clearly tooting her own horn, the television personality captioned her post “It’s throw on a boot , white tee , jeans , N lip season ✨💫🤗 #NycNightsBeLike 💃🏾.”

She drummed up more than 92,000 likes and a swarm of flattering remarks.

“I love your style soooo much @angelasimmons 😩😍 you are wearing those boots sis!!!! BNB at its best 💦😋”

Simmons, 32, paved her way into the fashion industry during her teen years.

She and her sister Vanessa Simmons created the shoe line Pastry in 2007, which consisted of bold and colorful patterns. Although their shoe collection was quite successful, Angela parted ways with the company a few years ago and began working on her solo fashion line.

Although, Angela seemingly prefers to dress casually in Fashion Nova on certain occasions, she’s still a big fan of certain luxury fashion brands.

“I’m trying to think of what’s in my closet,” she told Glamour magazine in 2014. “I mean, I mix it up. Saint Laurent, Chanel has really cute boots and heels. I just became a really big fan of Valentino because they’re super comfortable and they’re super-cute.”

Although fans are often used to seeing Angela glammed up in photos, she’s admitted that she likes to keep her appearance simple, especially when doing her makeup.

“I’m a simple person,” she added. “When I do my own makeup — if I do my own makeup — just give me mascara, bronzer, blush, and a red lip. I don’t even put on foundation, I don’t have time.”

Fans will get to see a glimpse of Angela’s personal life on the upcoming season 5 of “GUHH,” which premieres on Jan. 5, according to Deadline.

Still independent.

We hope this story was worth your time. For over 14 years, Atlanta Black Star has stayed Black-owned and independently run. We didn't get here by waiting on ad budgets that were never built to prioritize us. Our readers did that.

Corporate support for Black media has always been thin. Outlets like ours get roughly 1% of the $170 billion spent on U.S. advertising each year, and that margin is shrinking further as advertisers walk back the DEI-linked commitments they made in 2020. That's the backdrop. It's not why we're asking.

The wider picture isn't any steadier. Newspaper ad revenue has fallen more than 80% since 2005, and local newsrooms are closing at a rate of roughly two a week nationwide. When outlets go under, it's rarely the ones built to center a Black perspective from the ground up that get to stick around.

We know a request for support isn't why you came here. But without readers choosing to fund this work directly, the depth of reporting we can do at home and abroad shrinks along with everyone else's. If you're not in a position to give, that doesn't change how much we value you as a reader.

If you are able to, a recurring contribution does more for us than a single one-time gift, because it lets us plan the next investigation instead of just the next invoice. It takes about 30 seconds, no long form, no account. Thank you for continuing to support independent journalism and freedom of the press.
