Sherri Shepherd is dealing with a lot these days and paying child support to her two ex-husbands isn’t making things any easier for her.
The comedian actress is usually bringing the laughs, but in a candid Instagram post she made Wednesday, she said she’s “careening” over career woes and personal difficulties.
“So much transition in my life I feel like my head is spinning… everything seems a little off… a lot of no’s being thrown my way… being told I am a ‘tough sell’… raising my very moody teenage son by myself… (if you see his dad tell him his son’s mother needs a little help)… child support payments to two baby daddies… gotta stay employed bc if I don’t the entire house of cards will collapse… family far away… needed by many and only able to help a few… always hustling… I never stop grinding…”
Shepherd went on to explain that while she usually takes her “pain” to make “it funny at a comedy club,” she is thankful for the support she has from her family and friends because “at this moment I am careening.” The “Funny You Should Ask” star also credited working out for helping her through the difficulties of life.
Finally, she added jokingly, “and even in the midst of this mental mind depression, I’ll get a hundred requests for someone wanting to do graphics and my next animation artwork & cartoon illustrations 😂😂 #youcantbreakme #onlyforaseason #godwontgiveyoumorethanyoucanhandle.”
And while Shepherd noted she can’t indulge in favorites like cheesecake and peach cobbler, she does have support from her celebrity pals like Loni Love, Niecy Nash and Vanessa Bell Calloway.
But what several fans latched onto was Shepherd’s remark about her ex-husbands. The former “The View” panelist married Lamar Sally in 2011 after Nash introduced the two. By 2017, their divorce was finalized. Shepherd and Sally share Lamar Sally Jr., who is 5 years old. Before then, Shepherd wed Jeff Tarpley in 2001 and they divorced in 2010. They share 14-year-old son Jeffrey Tarpley.
“Sis you look amazing. I’m sorry your two baby daddy’s aren’t helping out. They need to get jobs and start helping ya!.”
“Your transparency…wow. I sometimes find it taking care of teenage sons with tons of help, so I sincerely feel your pain. It surely takes a village to raise a child. Praying for you and genuinely wish I could help you (although I feel like Niecy, you’d have to put those huge dogs away). 🤣 Hugs from afar🤗🤗🤗”
Shepherd has been open about her issues with her exes in the past, even chiming in on having to pay child support on an Instagram post that Nash made last year.
Shepherd was ordered to pay Sally $4,100 in child support, while she pays $131 monthly to Tarpley, who shares custody of their teenager.
