A video Tamar Braxton shared to her Instagram page over the weekend is catching the attention of her fans due to her appearance.
Braxton posted footage of herself and boyfriend David Adefeso taking in what appeared to be dinner and a show on Sunday, August 11. After the singer panned the camera to Adefeso and told him to “wake up,” she focused the lens back on her, tilting her head in an apparent effort to show off the hair that’s growing in. Braxton then put the attention back on her man, smiling at the camera with him in the frame.
And while many fans reacted to the couple’s interaction on camera, there were others who were more focused on the fact that Braxton appears to be leaving the bald look she’s sported for more than a year in the past.
Many were pleased to see that the singer is allowing her hair to grow out, which she previously said she would do on a past Instagram Live stream.
“You should never cover your natural crown with a wig. You’re so beautiful without it.🤷🏾♀️”
“@barbie914 Agreed!!” someone replied.
“ROCKIN’ THAT HAIR 🎸”
“Your hair is beautiful ❤️”
“@tamarbraxton let your hair grow back 😍😍😍😍”
Braxton initially ditched the long blond wigs she said her estranged husband Vince Herbert adored after filing to divorce him in October 2017. By March 2018, lopped off her natural hair, a moment she shared in an Instagram video she captioned “finally free.”
After debuting her bald look, Braxton explained the switch had nothing to do with her ending her marriage.
“Im over feeling captive to a wig, weave, people, people’s comments & opinions hell…even my OWN feelings!” she explained on Instagram at the time. “WE can choose to stop these things from having the power and victory over us!! And for me, that starts TODAY 🤸🏾♀️ #happysttamarsday 🍀”
But the look was not a hit across the board. Many fans began imploring the star to go back to wearing the wigs and weaves they were used to seeing.
“You can’t grow your hair back 😳”
“For biblical reasons you should grow it back and not cut it. Not because of what the world says. Your beautiful either way.”
But Braxton was firmly embracing the look and said on Instagram last September, “I’ll take me….. I’m not growing my hair back🤷🏽♀️ i like ME for once!! You should try it!! #nothinglikeit❤️.”
However, now it seems as if her tune has changed. Braxton growing out her locks comes after she previously began wearing wigs again on stage as well as during dates and appearances.
