The former boyfriend of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kenya Moore has been arrested in Arizona on charges of punching his girlfriend.
Matt Jordan was at a Denny’s with Valerie Bell when he allegedly punched her in the parking lot in the early hours of Sunday morning, according to an arrest report obtained by TMZ Tuesday.
A woman is said to have witnessed the incident, telling officers that Jordan also got very close to her — the witness — and snatched the cigarette out of her mouth as well as those she had on her. Then he allegedly tried to toss them onto the restaurant’s roof.
By the time officers arrived on the scene, Jordan allegedly left. A few hours later, Bell reportedly called the police in Maricopa, Arizona, to say he came back to her house. Eventually, police found and arrested him without incident. That’s when they say they learned of a warrant for an incident that occurred in April.
When Jordan was taken into custody in Pinal County over the weekend, he was booked for trespassing as well as three additional, separate charges of aggravated assault, theft and threatening/intimidating with damage to property. The three charges come from a Maricopa County arrest warrant from April. Bail for the one-time reality star was set at $3,250 and has a hearing scheduled this week.
While TMZ reported he was still in custody, a search of the mugshots of currently incarcerated inmates in the Pinal County Jail indicates Jordan may have bonded out by the time Wednesday morning rolled around.
Jordan’s issues began when he was charged with assault, theft and threatening in April. However, he failed to appear in court for those charges. After getting hit with a trespassing charge Saturday after going to Bell’s home, the outstanding warrant was revealed.
Fans online felt it was great that Moore moved on from the personal trainer.
“She definitely dodged a bullet.”
“Boy did kenya dodge a bullet with him! I knew he was cray cray!”
“So glad she got out of that situation when she started noticing all the signs. Now she’s leveled up and got her baby and husband.”
Others said the star tried to warn everyone about his behavior, but her cries were tamped down by “RHOA” fans and Moore’s co-stars.
“She tried to tell y’all. Y’all wanted to laugh with Phaedra and agree with her when said she was provoking him.”
“But Yall Swore Kenya Paid Him To Be Crazy Over Her.”
“Kenya already told us he was violent and Sheree, Porsha and Phaedra accused her of provoking people to violence.”
This is the latest run-in with the law Jordan has faced. He is also one of the defendants in a lawsuit filed by a chauffeur who claimed he punched him in the face back in 2016.
Moore herself has previously taken a restraining order out against Jordan when she claimed he was harassing her, threatening her and calling her up to 30 times a day. He even allegedly broke her garage door.
