Angela Simmons, daughter of legendary MC Rev. Run of Run-D.M.C., is embracing the mom life. The 31-year-old posted a video on Instagram Monday with her 2-year-old son Sutton Joseph Tennyson Jr. working out with her. “Today’s almost workout brought to you by lol SJ … I don’t know what I’d do without you. My life! My love! My strength! ♥️💪🏽😊,” her caption read.
The video highlights Simmons holding her son in the air calling him “chicken butt.” With over 200,000 views, her post had fans gushing over her interaction with her son.
“So beautiful and, your an amazing strong mom and SJ is so blessed to have you, ❤️” one fan wrote.
“He loves his mommy,❣️🌸” another fan wrote.
One fan posted four heart eyes emojis “😍😍😍😍” and then wrote, “He is working you out!!!!”

Another fan complimented Simmons’ strength. “I so admire your strength,♥️” they said.
Simmons received compliments on her strength due to the death of the father of her son, Sutton Tennyson. The two got engaged in April 2016 but called off their engagement in December 2017. The next year Sutton would be fatally shot inside his garage on Nov. 3, 2018, in Atlanta. The man accused of killing the 37-year-old, Michael Williams, reportedly shot Tennyson multiple times as he was walking away from an argument.
In the aftermath, Simmons wrote an Instagram post to her former fiancé, stating, “Thank you for leaving behind my greatest gift. I’m hurting. I’m numb,” she said. “Thank you for the outpouring of love everyone. I can’t believe I’m even saying Rest In Peace Sutton. I promise to hold SJ down in every way I promise ❣,” Simmons added.
For Father’s Day, Simmons also posted a video of Tennyson and their son SJ spending quality time together. “Words will never be good enough …. to fill the voids I feel for our Baby Boy! Happy Father’s Day !! You are missed 🙏🏽,” she said.
