A family day of fun at an indoor trampoline park took an ugly turn for a metro Atlanta father who says an off-duty officer and his wife started an argument with him over a parking space.
As reported by WSB-TV, Bryan Tucker took his seven children to the Sky Zone trampoline park in McDonough, Georgia, on April 7 when the unnamed cop picked a fight with him in the parking lot. Tucker said the cop started shouting and cursing, and at one point said, “Well, y’all must want to go to jail in Henry County today.’ ”
“He wanted that parking space,” Tucker told the station.
During their confrontation, Tucker and witnesses said the officer’s wife approached Tucker’s family in a threatening manner, as if she had a gun.
“She’s basically walking with her hands behind her back and walking up to us like she’s going to pull out and start shooting,” the father of seven recalled.
A police report obtained by WSB-TV noted that the officer involved was “uncooperative” and declined to give a statement on the matter. In the report, the responding officer wrote that security footage showed a lady approaching with her hand behind her back or on her hip.
Tucker said he plans to seek a warrant for the woman’s arrest, and wants to see charges brought against the off-duty officer as well. Tucker, who has a concealed carry licence, said the situation could’ve ended much uglier than it did.
The officer and his wife, whom the TV station refused to name, have yet to be charged, WSB-TV reported.
