Porsha Williams is an engaged woman, but she’s been focusing on her mommy duties first — especially before she gave birth to daughter Pilar Jhena’ on March 22.
“I paused everything as far as planning the wedding,” Williams disclosed on the first part of the reunion. “Because the prenup comes before that, and I didn’t want any stress while I’m pregnant.”
Asked if the ball had already gotten rolling on prenup negotiations, Williams said things got tense and she had to pull back.
“We started it and it — and it got hot,” she said. “That’s when I made the decision to say, ‘You know what? Let’s enjoy this moment first.'”
The prenup talk didn’t catch many viewers’ ears when they watched this weekend, but a couple of them chimed in on it.
“@Porsha4real I feel ya with the hotdog king, I found myself a potato king, who knew, 🤷♀️ but never been happier. Married 2 years. No prenup though, but I would have if he asked because he treats me well regardless. Go porsha!!! #RHOAReunion.”
“Porsha says talking about the prenup made things “get hot” and then starts talking s–t about her mother-in-law… we’ll chalk it up to the pregnancy hormones. 😉 #RHOA.”
Viewers got a glimpse into the first talks surrounding the parents getting a prenuptial agreement established on an early episode of “RHOA” this season. The contract was first drummed up during Williams’ first meeting with McKinley’s mother, Gina. As the trio dined, Williams said she and The Original Hot Dog Factory owner hadn’t “really gotten into the conversation” but agreed a prenup was in order.
“It’s the best thing for two businesspeople to do,” she said on “Watch What Happens Live” after the episode aired in November.
By March, another episode of “RHOA” aired where the couple began discussing the document that would help them keep their assets should a divorce occur.
“I think for any couple talking about finances can be uncomfortable,” Williams said in a confessional scene during the March 24 episode. “When I was getting a divorce before, I really didn’t get anything and in this situation, I’m coming in with a lot that I’ve worked for before getting married.”
Chatting with her fiancé as they planned their baby shower, she agreed that the two needed to get the contract set up before walking down the aisle.
Williams and McKinley plan on getting married on New Year’s Eve.
