Fox sportscaster Mike Hill is keeping his Valentine’s Day plans with his boo Cynthia Bailey under the wraps, but he certainly gave fans some insight on what he’s not going to do.
Hill and the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star have been going strong for a few months now, and he seemingly wants to offer her the best eatery. The sportscaster took to his Twitter account on Feb. 7 and jokingly advised men to not treat their “girl” to White Castle for Valentine’s Day.
“I just passed a White Castles in Indianapolis and it had a sign outside that read ‘Book Valentines Day reservations now,'” he Tweeted. “If you’re the dude dumb enough to take your girl there for Valentine’s Day, I’m sure it will be the last date.”
A gang of fans called Hill out on the post and felt he was being way too “shallow.”
“You’re shallow man if you think expensive dates are what level headed females want,” one Twitter user said.
“Joke or not, there are times when the platform you have should be used wisely and in a considerable manner. You NEVER know the struggle a person is going through,” another would-be social critic added.
Hill appeared to be fed up with people taking his post “way too serious” clapped back by saying that he wasn’t trying to “put anyone down.”
“If this is what you can afford…what she likes and she’s happy, I love it!” he wrote on Instagram. “I love White Castle but if you do this, you gonna regret it in SEVERAL ways on February 15th. I’m JUST SAYING. They tried it but fellas don’t YOU try it. 😂.”
Other folks in the comments commended Hill for making light of naysayers’ comments.
“You just giving out good advice to the young fellas 😂,” one person said. “Why are they so mad lol.”
Another added, “😂 Y’all taking this way too serious ! I thought it was funny! @itsmikehill I hope you and Cynthia have fun for V-day!”
Hill and Bailey first met in April 2018 on Steve Harvey‘s daytime show “Steve.” Hill was chosen out of three bachelors on Harvey’s dating show to date Bailey. The rest has been history between the couple, who eventually want to get married one day.
“It’s on the table. It’s gonna happen,” he told Harvey in November during a special appearance. “I was open to marriage when I came here before, but now she just kicked the door wide open. … I’m going to marry her one day.”
In the meantime, Bailey said she and Hill are going with the “flow” of their relationship.
“It’s weird because we’re not in a rush, but we’re not taking our time, either,” the model told ET Online. “We’re just going with the flow. I mean, I feel like we could, like, three weeks from now, ‘Hey, babe? Whatcha doin’? You feel like getting married today?’ Yeah.”
