Fans Defend Tommie Lee’s Character Amid Child Abuse Indictment

Folks who support “Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta” actress Tommie Lee feel she’s often portrayed negatively in the media.

Lee, who’s experienced a whirlwind recent months of drama, recently shared a video of herself seemingly in high spirits. In the video, the reality star showed off her “Fashion Nova” garments before zooming the camera over her flawlessly made-up face. She added the caption “Drip đź’§”

Lee’s video was one of the first postings she’s shared on social media since news of her indictments made headlines. The mother of two is reportedly looking at 54 years behind bars if she’s convicted of the multiple child abuse charges pending against her.

The 34-year-old seemingly addressed the child cruelty case by saying that she’s “not a perfect Person nor do I pretend to be!! … Its an everyday struggle trying to keep my #Dreams from becoming #nightmares.”

Several of Lee’s fans blasted media outlets on her recent post for purportedly painting the star in a negative manner.

“I don’t like how the media portray her to be,” one person wrote. “She seems like a nice person.”

Another added, “She really is [a nice person]! They just want her to be hard and out of control but she’s not! She’s definitely not to be f–ked wit but at the same time she sweet as can be and coo as f–k!”

One fan commented, ” They be trying to make her look bad af on tv but she really coo.”

Lee, who has been arrested more than 30 times and whose current legal troubles began with an incident last fall in which she was alleged to have slammed her daughter’s head into a locker at a Georgia middle school, also complained about being depicted as an alcoholic on “LHHATL.” During season 7 of the VH1 series, Lee’s storyline centered on her excessive drinking, although she denied being an alcoholic. In one scene, she and her cast mate Spice got into a heated confrontation after Spice accused Lee of showing up to their video shoot for their song “Ima Get It” three hours late. She also claimed that Lee was intoxicated.

However, Lee took to her Instagram Story after episode 11 aired and took issue with “LHHATL” producers for continuing to imply that she had a drinking problem. She claimed that the show’s staff made Spice lie about her showing up late to the video shoot and said she was actually on time. Lee added that “LHHATL” producers told Spice to lie about her alleged tardiness so they could bring up Lee’s excessive drinking.

The reality star seemingly suggested that she was tired of looking like the “bad guy” on the show and once again denied having an alcohol problem.

“I don’t have a drinking problem,” Lee said. “I drink when I want to, because I’m grown. And I drink responsibly. I will continue drink as much as I want to.”
