Travis Scott, Accused By Rocker Tommy Lee of Stage-Design Theft, Rapper’s Fans Go In: ‘Okay and Elvis Ripped Off Chuck Berry’

Travis Scott is beefing with Tommy Lee, the drummer for the ’80s rock band Mötley Crüe, and it’s all over the rapper’s stage design for his “Astroworld Tour.”

At one point during his show, Travis rides a real, functional roller coaster on stage and performs while he hangs upside down.

Tommy Lee accused Travis Scott of stealing his set design

But Tommy did the same thing when he toured with his band in 2011 and played a drum solo while looping a full 360 degrees, so he threw the first shot.

“Just found out this,” he wrote. “F—ing idiot @travisscott or someone on his team ripped off the 360 and the Cruecifly. WTF. Get an original idea, bro … I get copying is a form of flattery, but this is just straight ripping off my s—-.”

Travis didn’t respond to Lee but his lawyer did, and she said the rapper was given full permission to use the roller coaster idea from its designer.

“Tommy didn’t invent the concept of a roller coaster on stage and there’s no legal basis for his accusatory outburst,” said attorney Laurie L. Soriano. “The actual creator and owner of the system has granted Travis all rights to use that equipment to complement his original stage design.”

But the Mötley Crüe member fired back and said the rapper hired the same set designers as he did.

“And the plot thickens,” wrote Lee. “After I and our production crew created the 360 and Crüecify, we hired a company called SGPS in Las Vegas to create it. Well, guess who’s doing Travis’ set design? F—ing SGPS. So all you motherf—— tellin me I’m not right can f— off.”

Lee was clearly addressing the many Travis Scott fans who blasted him for his theft claims, and they left all kinds of comments on his Instagram page.

“Okay, and Elvis ripped of Chuck Berry,” someone wrote sarcastically. “Moving on.”

“Meanwhile, white people jacked Rock N Roll,” wrote another.

Travis has been quiet about all of this so far.
