Ex-Teacher Accused of Sexual Misconduct with Teen Still on the Run, 16-Year-Old Returns Home

The Mississippi teen who left home to ran off with a teacher accused of sexual misconduct has come back home according to authorities. Meanwhile, the teacher is still on the run.

Oscar O’Neal’s mother reported him missing on April 30 and the Hattiesburg Police Department tweeted Wednesday, May 9 that the 16-year-old returned home that afternoon.

Meanwhile, there’s still no sign of 30-year-old Nicole Jackson, the former Earl Travillion Attendance Center teacher he was believed to be with.

The HPD has been investigating Jackson since mid-March after receiving a tip claiming she was engaging in inappropriate sexual relations with a student. She had been arrested and charged with sexual battery by a person in a position of trust or authority. After her April 10 arrest, she was released on $10,000 bond, WDAM News reported.

When O’Neal left his home last month, his father, Oscar O’Neal Jr., said his son left a letter “saying he was leaving and pretty much moving on with her.”

“Why would you choose my child? I feel like my child was a target. She robbed him from being a youth and a child,” O’Neal Jr. previously told the news station.

Meanwhile, the husband of the fleed teacher, Isaiah Jackson, told WDAM his wife of four years and mother of two “would never do this.”
