Hennessy Carolina is tired of people bashing her older sister Cardi B because she’s pregnant at a time when her career is red hot.
It was just under two weeks ago that Cardi confirmed the baby rumors after she performed on “SNL,” and while many congratulated the her, some did the opposite and offered criticism.
“Why is anyone saying anything so mean to someone? A baby is a blessing,” said Hennessy in an interview with People magazine. “Why would you talk about it like it’s a bad thing? My sister is such a good person. I wouldn’t want nobody to talk bad about her. It really hurts. But I’m not gonna let them stress me out anymore. I’m tired of it.”
After Cardi’s “SNL” performance, she admitted to feeling free since she’s been going through extreme measures to keep her pregnancy a secret. It’s something that Carolina also talked about, and she said the reveal was healthy for her big sis.
“I know she’s happy. No more people talking about her,” she explained. “I know she’s happy and she’s free. She can go out and eat food, not hide what she wants to wear.”
Shortly after the big pregnancy reveal, the “Invasion of Privacy” creator said she was reluctant to share the news in fear of criticism. Cardi also said her main motivation after learning of the baby was to show her team that she wasn’t going to slow down and they’d all still have jobs.
“I know a lot of people invested their time [in] me, and I just don’t want to disappoint anybody,” she told Hot 97’s Ebro Darden. “A lot of people [were] telling me, ‘What are you doing?’ And it’s like, ‘okay, I’m pregnant, but I have a game plan.’”
As for Hennessy, she’s definitely her older sister’s biggest cheerleader as well as bodyguard, and it doesn’t look like she’ll be giving up either of those jobs anytime soon.
