Madame Tussaud Blames Lighting for Paleness of Bey’s Wax Figure, But That Doesn’t Explain the Non-resemblance

Madame Tussauds has an explanation for why their new Beyoncé wax figure appears lighter than the singer actually is.

“At Madame Tussauds, our talented team of sculptors takes every effort to ensure we accurately color match all of our wax figures to the celebrity being depicted,” a museum spokeswoman told TheWrap Wednesday, July 19. “Lighting within the attraction combined with flash photography may distort and misrepresent the color of our wax figures, which is something our sculptors are unable to account for at the production stage.”

The New York branch of Madame Tussauds tweeted an image of Beyoncé’s statue Wednesday, July 12, urging fans to see it before September.

Things took off when a visitor posted an image complimenting the figure on Tuesday.

Fans immediately took notice of the figure and slammed it for its pale appearance.

One pointed out past Beyoncé wax figures also have not resembled her.

That same day, Kylie Jenner attended the unveiling of her wax figure at Madame Tussauds Hollywood, and thanked the museum for the “amazing honor” on Instagram.

Many took issue with the museum’s spot-on replica of Jenner in comparison to Bey’s.
