John Saunders (Feb. 2, 1955 – Aug. 10, 2016)
ESPN commentator John Saunders’ death at 61 came unexpectedly and a cause of death was undetermined. But reports suggested diabetes, heart disease and depression were to blame. Still, Saunders enjoyed a lengthy broadcasting career that included hosting the World Series, Stanley Cup playoffs and the MLB All-Star Game. Saunders also anchored several shows on ESPN, including “SportsCenter.”

Heisman trophy winner Rashaan Salaam was found dead in a Boulder, Colorado, park of an apparent suicide at age 42.
