New Jersey U.S. Sen. Cory Booker addressed Donald Trump on CNN after giving a rousing speech at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Monday.
On the opening night of the Democratic National Convention, Trump took to Twitter to criticize Booker, Senators Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders in one of his all-too-familiar social media attacks.
In one tweet, the Republican presidential nominee wrote that the Democratic party is in trouble if Booker is their future. The tweet reads:
In the clip, Booker is told about the tweet but he refuses to respond with hostility.
“I love Donald Trump,” Booker says. “I know his kids and his family. They are good people. And this is the problem he has … I love you Donald. I pray for you … I just don’t want you to be my president.”
