The Croods — yes that adorable Stone Age family the world fell in love with this past March — will be returning to the silver screen with a sequel.
Who Got The Role has confirmed that DreamWorks Animation has already begun developing The Croods sequel which is expected to bring back the voices of Nicolas Cage, Ryan Reynolds, Emma Stone, Catherine Keener, Clark Duke and Cloris Leachman.
The second installment will also return Chris Sanders and Kirk DeMicco back to their roles as writers and directors of the film.
The original Croods film focused on a caveman family whose cave home was destroyed, forcing them to embark on an adventurous journey through an unfamiliar fantastical world led by a very resourceful boy. However, details about the sequel’s plot have yet to emerged from the abyss.
After raking in $144 million domestically and $242.6 million overseas for an impressive haul of $386.6 million worldwide, it’s easy to see why The Croods sequel is a no-brainer — especially with the Hollywood trend these days.
