Drake Calls Out Macy's and Walgreens over YOLO Merchandise

drake calls out macy's and walgreensDrake took to Instagram to call out Macy’s and Walgreens for the use of the moniker YOLO – You Only Live Once on its merchandise including shirts and hats. The Canadian rapper while not the first to coin the term, popularized it in recent years.

According to E!,

The 26-year-old rapper posted an Instagram shot of several “YOLO” hats for sale, writing, “Walgreens…you gotta either chill or cut the cheque.”

He also posted an Instagram shot of “YOLO” on a Charlie Brown T-shirt, quipping, “Macy’s…same goes for you.”

Drake popularized “YOLO” in his 2011 song “The Motto,” which featured Lil Wayne. But he was reportedly not, according to drake calls out Macy's for YOLOKnowYourMeme.com, the first person to utilize the acronym.

Macy’s nor Walgreens have responded to the unofficial charge. If Drake is serious about calling out the retail giants he will need a lot more than a threat on Instagram. Perhaps it’s because it may be a hard case to prove. The young millionaire does not have any exclusive trademark for the term across all goods and services.

Still we empathize with his frustrations, Macy’s and Walgreens are corporations with an objective. Do you think Drake should sue Macy’s and Walgreen over the use of YOLO?

Drake is the one who needs to relax! What a joke! I've seen many others using YOLO for many years – Long before he was even born. I mean, come on! Doesn't he have anything better to do?
