Check out a sneak peak of Disney Channel’s newest TV movie, Sofia the First. The new clip provides insight on why forest animals are always hanging out with princesses – I know, a burning question we’ve all had. The family friendly movie is sure to follow in the Disney tradition of being heartwarming all whilst teaching a very important message…through song. The new movie follows a once commoner Sofia and her journey on learning to become a princess when her mother marries a prince.
Believe it or not, I usually wouldn’t click on a trailer for a Disney Junior movie, however the star studded cast caught my eye. The princess is voiced by Modern Family‘s Ariel Winter while her rabbit companion is brought to life by Wayne Brady. Fashion guru Tim Gunn and Grey’s Anatomy doctor, Sara Ramirez also round out the cast. Talk about eclectic, right? Despite the fact I never would have dreamt of these actors being cast together, it might actually prove harmonious…literally. In true Disney fashion the movie is also a musical. Veteran Broadway singer Wayne Brady and Tony winner Sara Ramirez definitely have the pipes for that.
The Hollywood Reporter tells us Sofia the First will premiere on the Disney Channel November 18th at 7pm and again on November 22 at 9am on Disney Junior. A television series based on the movie will follow suit in 2013.
Without further ado, the Sofia the First sneak peak…
