The Tuesday recall victory of Wisconsin Republican Gov. Scott Walker over Democrat Tom Barrett reverberated all the way to the White House, where President Obama and his staff sought a different outcome.
And just maybe they rue their decision to not travel to the state to campaign for Barrett. The president’s Monday Twitter message supporting Barrett did not take the Milwaukee mayor over the top.
There was something good to come out of the election, according to Tripp Wellde, the Wisconsin director of the Obama re-election campaign. Wellde said in a statement that exit polls show voters favoring Obama over Republican challenger Mitt Romney.
