In one of their last acts as Kentucky Wildcats, the five freshmen and the rest of the NCAA championship team along with coach John Calipari and staff will visit President Barack Obama at the White House on Friday in honor of UK’s eighth national title.
President Obama selected North Carolina in his bracket, but the Tar Heels failed to make it to the final game. Kentucky first-year players Anthony Davis, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Marquis Teague and sophomores Terrence Jones and Doron Lamb led the Wildcatss’run through the tournament.
All five players have declared themselves eligible for this year’s NBA Draft.
Calipari said his players expressed their excitement about meeting the President almost immediately after holding off Kansas, 67-59 for the championship.
