Nick Cannon is suffering from another health problem. The actor/comedian has recently announced that he has blood clots in his lungs and an enlarged ventricle in his heart. Cannon was diagnosed after he went to the hospital last week Friday.
“It was quite serious. I was trying to downplay it a lot, even in my own mind,” said Cannon on his 92.3 FM Rollin’ morning show.
The Up All Night actor thinks the constant flying across the country may have lead to the clotting of his blood and the trouble with his heart.
“I travel a lot. Anyone who flies a lot can be a victim to getting blood clots because it can start in your legs or your lower back (from sitting for an extended period of time). That, on top of my previous condition made me more prone to (getting blood clots),” he said. “I couldn’t sleep because I was in so much pain. I was having a lot of pain in my back,” he explained, adding that his right arm was throbbing and his chest felt tight earlier last week.
Cannon’s doctor advised the actor to take some time out to rest.
“My doctor was saying that my work is going to kill me – and he’s not joking,” he said Thursday. “I think part of the reason why my health did kind of deteriorate was because I wasn’t resting a lot and I was doing too much. I was overworking myself, working out too much.”
This isn’t the film star’s first health scare this year. He just recovered from a frightening kidney failure that he suffered from a few days after New Years.
