Braxton Family Values Exposes Fragilities For Tamar and Trina Braxton

Braxton Family Values spotlighted the unraveling family issues sisters Tamar Braxton and Trina Braxton have been facing outside of their own usual sister-sibling fracas.

The entertaining fan-favorite family show started light-hearted with sisters Tamar and Traci Braxton enjoying a proposed last-time fattening meal before the two decided to work on their unwanted pounds. Traci obviously had second thoughts about her sister’s concerns regarding her “poking out stomach” and was seemingly more open to Tamar’s overbearing comments. They laughed as Tamar approved of Traci’s “beat” look and acted silly throughout their workout sessions with ‘Congo’ man. If you recall, earlier in the season Tamar and Traci had a counseling session to understand the underline angst between one another. So, it was nice to see some of the anguish dissipating.

Trina was ecstatic about sharing news with her family over dinner that she and her cover band were to perform a gig which could possibly get her recognized with the hopes of furthering her solo career. However, those plans were thwarted when told that performance was pushed back. All was not lost because the fledging singer and her band were booked to perform at a New Orleans wedding in lieu of the previous scheduled event which happened to also be her birthday weekend. Pleased she would be hanging with her band-mates on her birthday weekend, she made it clear to Gabe (her husband) that he could not join her.

And then the shift begins…for everyone.

Fans got a chance to see how Vincent Herbert became ill last year and why Trina is currently separated from Gabe. First, Toni got a vague call from Tamar asking about “good” cardiologists. Then a few hours later, news spread to the family that Vince was hospitalized in New York.

So, what happened to Vince?

Vince and Tamar were on their way to attend a Lady Gaga (Vince manages Gaga) event when he complained of pain. En route to the event Vince’s breathing patterns drastically changed and was rushed to the emergency room.

“It went from dinner, to a doctor, to a hospital, to he’s in a coma,” Tamar said.

Vince was diagnosed with pulmonary embolism. He had a blood clot in his lung and was coma induced to better treat him.   Suddenly, Tamar was faced with life changing decisions. “I had to sign a lot of papers. I’m happy that we were friends because when you’re going through ‘what would he do?’ you remember those conversations,” Tamar told JET magazine last month.

Trina was the last family member to arrive at the hospital; we later learned her tardiness was due to dealing with another of Gabe’s cyber affairs. Gabe confessed to Trina about his latest virtual infidelity because the girl (she filmed the deed) was threatening to expose their tryst.

“I’m so humiliated!” an overly distraught Trina confided in mom Evelyn as she sobbed in evident pain. After unleashing all the hurt and disappointment of being wronged—again, she and Evelyn agreed Gabe had an illness and that Trina had to now do what was best for her.

“Remember I said, after you have exhausted all of your means, then you can walk away knowing that I did and I’ve done the best that I can do,” Evelyn said. “You can’t do no more.”

The show ended with the family dealing with their loved one’s pain as their own. Next week mom Evelyn has astonishing news and we get to see what’s next for the sisters individually and as a family.
