To get an idea of what David and Goliath will look like just try hard and think back to “The Day the Earth Stood Still” because the same director, Scott Derrickson, is set to direct the David and Goliath story. Derrickson who has directed ‘The Day the Earth Stood Still’ and wrote ‘The Exorcism of Emily Rose’ is tackling the epic challenge of converting the tale to the big screen and into something that will make sense. For all the people who never pick up a bible for fear of instantly bursting into flames, the story of David and Goliath is a biblical tale of the battles of the Philistines and the Israelites. David, who was a simple shephard is unexpectedly named King after defeating the Philistines’ mightiest warrior Goliath who stood 10 ft tall. In a two-man fight David drops Goliath with a slingshot and 5 special rocks. If things don’t go Relativity’s way with casting Dwayne Johnson and Taylor Lautner, they are keeping other casting options open.
