Oscars 2013: 'Argo' Takes Best Picture

We may see Ben Affleck directing more often, his dramatic thriller Argo  took home the coveted Oscar for Best Picture in last nights show.

However, deciding a winner in the Best Picture category certainly wasn’t cut and dry for the Academy. Argo had some very stiff competition including the award favorite Life of Pi and the highly-praised Lincoln and Silver Linings Playbook. This also included Lincoln‘s Daniel Day-Lewis bringing home the Best Actor award and Silver Linings Playbook‘s Jennifer Lawrence falling over with excitement after her win as Best Actress.
