Kevin Durant Drops 33 Points in Overtime Victory Over The Wizards

Kevin Durant took the Washington Wizards’ best shot and says that he’s seen some of the best basketball from the Oklahoma City Thunder in their 106-105 overtime win on Sunday

Durant had 33 points, 13 rebounds and six assists and hit the tying 3-pointer at the end of regulation and two free throws in the final minute of overtime giving OKC its fourth straight win.

“That last three minutes was some of the best basketball I’ve seen out of us since I’ve been here,” Durant said. “I’m very proud of how we played at the end of the game. We have to do better, but that’s a good stepping stone for us.”

Serge Ibaka scored 25 points and 12 rebounds, but the rest of the Thunder shot a weak 35 percent (18-of-51) from the floor. Thunder’s Russell Westbrook was ejected with 3:19 left in regulation after picking up his second technical foul.

Bradley Beal shot 6 of 8 from behind the arch and scored a career-high 34 points for the Wizards. John Wall was held to 10 points on 3-13 shooting and also missed the game winning lay-up for his team in overtime.

“We played extremely well,” Washington coach Randy Wittman said. “I give Oklahoma City credit for coming back. They made shots. All we needed to do in the last couple minutes of regulation was make one shot and a couple of free throws and then the game would be over with. Making that run, our guys played their tails off tonight and came up short.”

Washington heads over to Dallas for their match up on Tuesday, November 12 at 8:30 p.m. and OKC meets the L.A. Clippers on November 13 at 9:30 p.m. in L.A.
