This is the End looks like either a ridiculously self-indulgent conglomerate of celebrities riffing on themselves, or an enormously fun comedian team-up movie. It might just end up being both. The new trailer for the film showcases just how many famous people are in it, playing fictional versions of themselves.
The comedy This Is the End follows six friends trapped in a house after a series of strange and catastrophic events devastate Los Angeles. As the world unravels outside, dwindling supplies and cabin fever threaten to tear apart the friendships inside. Eventually, they are forced to leave the house, facing their fate and the true meaning of friendship and redemption.
The highlight of the trailer is Emma Watson robbing James Franco, Seth Rogen, et al at axepoint, leading to the soon-to-be-quoted everywhere line, “Hermione just stole all our shit.” But there’s also Michael Cera getting impaled by a falling pole, Aziz Ansari being kicked into a pit, and much more goofiness. But don’t let me spoil all the best stuff. Check out the trailer below. This Is the End comes out June 12th.
