Beyonce Visits The UN; Sister Solange Lands Madewell Deal

Beyonce and her younger sister Solange Knowles are keeping busy with business and charity.

Earlier this month Beyonce was named the Ambassador for World Humanitarian Day 2012 after she agreed to lend her face, voice and time to promote the worthy cause. On Thursday the 30-year old entertainer visited the United Nations General Assembly Hall in New York City where she met with Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon to discuss furthering the cause and preparations for her video shoot.

Along with songwriter Diane Warren Bey will record a video for “I Was Here” from her “4” album at the United Nations. Reportedly doors will close at 7:45PM this evening and no outside cameras are allowed. The video will be released on World Humanitarian Day, August 19th. In case you haven’t heard, the day will will honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice and tribute is paid to those who continue to help people around the world.

Meanwhile younger sister Solange Knowles landed a new endorsement with fashion label Madewell. The J. Crew owned label is known for mixing prints and fabrics – something Solange has mastered – it’s a perfect match really. The company’s rep stated,

“Solange’s great style mix-matched perfectly with Madewell’s aesthetic.”
