Whitney Houston’s Mother Cissy Reportedly Diagnosed with Dementia

Cissy and Whitney Houston

Mother of the late singer Whitney Houston, Cissy Houston was recently diagnosed with early stages of dementia.

A source told Radar Online, “She’s in the early stages of dementia… She repeats herself a lot and doesn’t remember what she says. She just says she’s getting old.”

The strain of the 84-year-old’s daughter Whitney and grand-daughter Bobby Kristina passing has been a huge factor in the decline of her health. The allegations of Whitney and her brother Gary being molested by their cousin Dee Dee Warwick also took a toll on Cissy. “The family is already fractured enough but she has had enough clarity to know what’s going on with these claims and is very upset,” the source said.

Radar Online reported earlier this week that Cissy disowned her son after the “Whitney” documentary in which he opened up about being molested. Gary said in the film that he was molested between the ages of 7-9 years old. He also added that he was violated by a female family member and that Whitney was too.

Warwick was 18 years older than Whitney and passed away in 2008. She often sang with Cissy gospel group Drinkard Singers and also back up to big names like Aretha Franklin.
