After NeNe Leakes thanked fans and celeb pals for their prayers and support following the announcement of husband Gregg’s cancer diagnosis, the reality star is telling fans the couple is trying to decide which treatment he should get.
“Gregg says that he doesn’t know how he feels about chemo and he does not know enough about holistic [medicine],” Leakes said on Instagram live while out with her husband of almost five years June 14. “So many people are reaching out to us about holistic but you just saying stuff. What you really know?”
Leakes explains many fans have been telling the couple to keep things natural and consume things like alkaline water, avoid sugar and take on diets like the Keto diet, which focuses on eating fat and protein and low carbs.
“Gregg is gonna pull through,” NeNe assured viewers as her husband added, “it’s a process for all of us.”
Gregg also encouraged men to get cancer screenings promptly rather than waiting around.
The story comes after Leakes, who has been performing comedy shows, canceled a series of them to be by her husband’s hospital bed in May. She said in an Instagram video that month that Gregg had been hospitalized for 15 days straight.
“I find it very difficult to stand onstage and laugh and have a good time and give you guys your money’s worth knowing that my husband is in the hospital not feeling well,” she said in the clip, noting it was not connected to his heart issue. “He has said to me over and over again, ‘Go on. Go out there. Have a good time. Do the show. I’m gonna be fine.’ But I find it mentally very hard for me to do.”
And after Leakes finally went public about why Gregg was hospitalized, she got lots of support from fans and her RHOA co-stars.
In response to the latest Gregg update, several fans have continued to share their non-traditional methods of cancer treatment.
