Azealia Banks and Cardi B‘s feud hasn’t ended, in fact, it just got revamped over Banks’ claims one of Cardi’s friends has been jailed.
After Banks bashed Cardi last month on “The Breakfast Club” for her apparent lack of contributions to the culture (and deeming her an “illiterate, untalented rat”) the “I Like It” performer hit back.
“I never asked to be an example or a role model. I don’t want to change my ways because I’m famous, that’s why I just mind my business,” Cardi said on her Instagram. “This is coming from a woman that bleached her skin but want to advocate. GOODBYE. I’m not apologizing or killing myself because of who I am.”
Now, Banks is drumming up more drama by calling out Cardi B’s best friend Star Brim, who reportedly was arrested and charged with wire fraud.
“Lol Cardi B’s friend Star Brim tried threatening and harassing me via Instagram a while back and now she’s in federal prison for wire fraud,” Banks tweeted Sunday, June 3. “Apparently she’s in there trying to peddle p—- to the male [correction officers] and it’s not working 😂😂😂😂😂. She’s sentenced to 15 months.”
“I actually feel bad for her,” Banks added. “When she was aking me to ‘pull up,’ I kept stressing to her that it’s 2018 and Black women shouldn’t be fighting each other/doing anything to get incarcerated… and now she’s in jail.”
In an apparent response, Cardi liked a video by private Instagram user Nina Fenn, who dissed Banks and ranted about how she had no business talking about the “Bodak Yellow” rapper.
Banks couldn’t resist throwing more shade at Cardi’s action, clowning her for saying she wants to enjoy her pregnancy but being surrounded by drama — including an autograph-seeker suing her and Offset and Cardi another suit for breaking her contract with ex-manager Shaft.
“I thought you wanted to enjoy your pregnancy, sis? @iamcardib. You have a lot of time for bulls— when your life is clearly crumbling around you. Two pending lawsuits, baby daddy in a car accident and best osogbo floating above ya head. Focus not on me and on your life, sis.”
“You have much bigger problems… than me.” she added.
Whether or not Cardi read the tweet before Banks’ Twitter account was deactivated isn’t clear but by Tuesday, June 5, she explained why Star is locked up.
“Since ya like to talk soo much s— and ya b—-es is maaa happy like if Star died or something let me give you the run down,” she began. “For two and a half years Star been out on bail. She got caught by the Feds and lost a lot of s—. Never asked nobody for s—, got a 9-5 trying to figure things out. She started bartending — something that was so new to her and it was a lil difficult at first since NYC strip clubs give hard times to Brown Skin bartenders and barely hire them! Yeup I said it 😤but you know what? She ain’t stop and became great!”
Cardi said her pal saved up enough money to buy luxury vehicles and has a “nice business plan” set up for when she gets released.
“Ya maa happy cause she a way or like she just got [snatched] but shorty been [prepared] for this and [turned] herself in early cause she just want to get s— over with and do her time. … [I’m] soo proud of her. I seen her growth and I see how responsible and determined she is. A super go-getter never asking nobody for s—- That’s my Hat5 fooo sureeee 💪🏾💪🏾🎩.”
