Gayle King spilled the beans about best friend Oprah Winfrey’s smoking habits and it turns out the former talk show host is no stranger to grass.
King stopped by “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Tuesday, May 8 and recalled her chat with actress Amy Schumer at DeGeneres’s birthday party in February.
“I said I never smoked a marijuana cigarette,” King explains. “And Amy said, ‘Well, we have to do something about that.’ … I’m a big square.
“I would try it, I would try it with Amy, but I don’t intend to do it publicly,” the “CBS This Morning” host added. “Oprah has also smoked a little marijuana too, I don’t mind saying. I’m not telling tales out of school.”
King wouldn’t elaborate on if Winfrey enjoyed weed or not, but said the OWN Network founder doesn’t do it regularly.
The admission had fans stunned upon hearing the news.
“Oprah smokes weed?!?!? What the f—!” a fan said. “Lol if this isn’t the biggest reason to make it legal idk what is.”
“Yooooo. I found out Oprah smokes weed… her s— probably from NASA,” someone else said.
“Can you imagine the type Grade A weed Oprah smokes?” said another. “One hit would probably give you the ability of flight.”
But maybe the shock isn’t warranted, as O herself has opened up about trying pot before — and decades ago.
In a 2015 appearance on “Late Show with David Letterman,” Winfrey said she hasn’t indulged in 30 years. But when she was on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in 2013, she said the last time she smoked in 1982.
