After much rumors and speculation, MAC Cosmetics is coming out with a limited-edition Aaliyah collection this coming June.
Back in 2016, a change.org petition was launched asking MAC to create a collection of makeup inspired by the late 90s singer. Fast forward and an eager fan was confirming the news with the cosmetics line via Twitter, “@MACcosmetics does the Aaliyah collection really come out June 20th?” And they promptly responded and said, “Yes, the wait is almost over! #AaliyahforMAC arrives June 20 online and June 21 in stores. MAC also announced a casting call to fans to create a short film on how Aaliyah inspired them. “Calling all Aaliyah super fans! @i_D and @maccosmetics invite you to join us to participate in the A-Z of Aaliyah, a film celebrating her legacy. To get involved, by 4/6 post a photo or video of yourself that shows how Aaliyah has inspired you, using the hashtags #AtoZofAaliyah and #AaliyahForMAC and complete the information on the landing page. Link in bio.” They added that the winner will be featured in the ad for the release of the collection. “Top submissions will be flown to New York to be a part of the video!”
In addition, they gave little teasers of the upcoming Aaliyah collection.
