While rapper Memphitz has been laying low as of late, he’s been known to have a big profile. The MC who’s responsible for discovering acts like T-Pain and K. Michelle has exposed himself on reality TV before while trying to save his marriage to Toya Wright on WeTV’s “Marriage Bootcamp: Reality Stars,” but this time, things are getting especially raw.

On Saturday, March 3, Memphitz will appear on the eighth season of “Iyanla: Fix My Life” as he attempts to properly grieve the brutal death of his father.

“His father was killed by a professed Ku Klux Klansmen in the 21st century,” Vanzant explains on “The Real” Tuesday, Feb. 27. “Fifteen years ago, his father was shot and burned alive — they never even got the body back — by a Ku Klux Klansmen simply because he was Black. In the 21st century. So us thinking racism still doesn’t exist, that’s a problem.”

Vanzant added that Memphitz “never grieved” his father’s death, rather, the rapper went on with his life “and his life eventually fell apart.”

Memphitz has addressed his dad’s murder, who was dismembered and his body parts put in separate places before. In 2016, explaining on “Marriage Bootcamp” that the trauma made him “have a fuse so short, it’s not good.”

White gun dealer and car dealership owner Dale V. Mardis was arrested for the killing of Mickey Wright Sr. three years afterward and pled no contest, according to Vibe magazine.

In a teaser clip for Vanzant’s show, the MC admits, “I feel cheated” about his father’s death.

But it seems his appearance on the show has led to some form of clarity in dealing with it. He posted on Instagram Sunday, Feb. 11 that he’s got “Homework 4 Life.”

The next day, he also put his past issues with Toya behind him by taking the high road and congratulating her on her new baby, Regin, whom she shares with boyfriend Robert Rushing.
