Nelly is issuing one of his first statements on the sexual assault allegations against him without speaking through an attorney.
“I’m gon’ respond like I’ve always responded from day one,” tells TMZ Wednesday, Feb. 14. “I’m innocent.”
When asked if he believes he’s been treated fairly, Nelly says, he’s unsure.
“When my charges got dropped I don’t think that made as much [sic] headlines as my accuser,” he said of Monique Greene, who filed a lawsuit against in which she claimed he forced her to have vaginal and oral sex.
Despite the growing allegations from other women, when asked if it’s a bad idea to get intimate with fans, Nelly says, “Oh, I don’t know about that.”
Nelly may want to put the situation behind him, as he’s suing Greene for falsely accusing him of rape. But even on Valentine’s Day Instagram posts to girlfriend Shantel Jackson, fans have been bringing up the accusations.
“Was this before or after the allegations??” one person commented.
“I doubt if the allegations are true. Dirty mo don’t seem like tha type to rape or whatever,” someone else said.
