H&M, an Italian cosmetics company and now Amazon have all had dust-ups with racist apparel in the last several weeks. The e-commerce company has removed a baby shirt and other apparel reading, “Slavery Gets S— Done.” The slogan, which appeared on other items like mugs and tote bags, has caused consumers to slam Amazon.

The offending apparel went viral Monday, Jan. 22 and featured the slogan and a graphic of what looks to be Egyptian pyramids. Since then, Amazon has removed the shirts, which were sold by a third party vendor called Styleart.

“All Marketplace sellers must follow our selling guidelines and those who don’t will be subject to action including potential removal of their account,” an Amazon spokesperson said in a statement to various outlets. “The products are no longer available.”

Still, the stage was already set for trouble.

“One in four of the estimated 40 million people in slavery today are children,” David Westlake, the CEO of International Justice Mission UK, told Global Citizen. “Today, children the same age as those modeling these t-shirts will be forced to work long, back-breaking hours for no pay. They will be living in desperate conditions where starvation, beatings, and sleep deprivation are common.”

Twitter users were also displeased with the message.

“Amazon is currently working on pulling its ‘Slavery Gets Shit Done’ kids wear …. who else is tired 🙋🏾‍♀️” another tweeted.

“What in the hell is this?” said someone else. “Slavery gets s— done?? Guess I’m canceling my Amazon Prime subscription now. Damn it all to hell!”
