Nicki Minaj has been quietly donating funds to an Indian village for two years, funding their technology, water and literacy programs.
“This is the kind of thing that makes me feel the most proud,” wrote Minaj, who recently paid $30,000 in fans’ tuition. “The money I’ve sent to this village in India for the last couple years [via my Pastor Lydia Sloley], has gotten them a Computer Center, a Tailoring Institute, a Reading Program and 2 WATER WELLS.”
Minaj, whose post included a video demonstrating a functioning water well, added she plans to continue her charity work, which she will share with fans if they wish to help.
Minaj followed up by expressing her gratefulness for being able to provide a place of worship to the village’s women, which is also outfitted with computers, sewing machines and a learning space.
“I’m so proud of our sisters in India,” Minaj wrote. “These women are us and we are them!”
Many praised Nicki’s generosity.
Others criticized her for aligning with religion and not helping Black people around the globe.
