Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook wasn’t named a starter in the NBA All-Star Game, but he could welcome one of his own as his wife is pregnant with their first child.
The two-time All-Star MVP announced the news on his Instagram page Wednesday, March 1, by posting a photo of him kissing Nina Westbrook’s growing baby bump. A simple caption accompanied the image: “5/2017,” indicating the new addition will arrive in May.
Messages of support poured in for the couple, who wed in 2015 after they met as basketball players while attending UCLA years earlier.
Photos of Nina’s pregnant belly first emerged in January when she posted photos of herself at a birthday brunch with her family.
Donning a stomach-hugging white tank top, many fans speculated about a new addition to the family and offered early congratulatory messages to the 28-year-old.
