Ciara is officially pregnant. The singer revealed she is expecting her first child with her husband, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson. This is the star’s second baby after her previous relationship with rapper Future.
After a celibate courtship following their meeting at the wrap party for NBC’s “I Can Do That” in 2015, Ciara and Wilson boasted about consummating their marriage after their lavish nuptials in July.
Then, on Instagram Oct. 25, Ciara posted a photo with Wilson embracing her as they rest their hands on her baby bump.
“On this special Birthday I received an abundance of love from friends and family,” she wrote the day she turned 31. “And I’m excited to Finally share one of the Greatest Gifts of All that God could give.”
Wilson, 27, also confirmed the news on his social media.
“The Greatest Blessing of All. Forever Grateful,” the footballer wrote. He completed the post with the hashtag #BabyWilsonOnTheWay.
Ci-Ci’s baby bump debut comes three months after the duo went on their honeymoon. It also follows relentless pregnancy rumors that plagued the couple ever since their wedding. At an Oct. 18 event as Revlon’s newest global brand ambassador, E! Online reported Ciara donned a loose-fitting white satin suit that sparked pregnancy speculation.
“Ciara is pregnant and is so excited to be a mom,” a source told the entertainment website. “Russell would like to have two to three children. They both would like a big family.”
However, the “Jackie” record maker shut down talk of baby news at the Revlon event. Ciara told Access Hollywood the newlyweds are focusing on their careers.
“We’ve got time to live life,” she explained. “Things will happen at [the] perfect timing as they’ve been.”
Still, paparazzi footage captured the singer leaving New York City in an oversized camouflage shirt days later. And last month, Ciara wore loose outfits to Revlon’s Annual Philanthropic Luncheon and at Milan Fashion Week.
Ahead of the pregnancy announcement, TMZ broke the news that Ciara dropped her libel suit against ex-fiance Future. Filed in February, the case sought $15 million dollars in favor of Ciara. Future always maintained he did not harm his ex’s character. Still, the “false light” suit – allegedly making Ciara out to be someone she is not – still stands.
After Ci-Ci confirmed she and Wilson were giving 2-year-old Future Zahir Wilburn a sibling Tuesday, fans drummed up a mixed reaction on Twitter.
