Atlanta Rapper Ralo Explains Exactly Why He Thought ‘Making it Rain’ on the Homeless Was a Good Idea

After Atlanta rapper Ralo (Terrell Davis) posted a video of himself donating $30,000 to homeless people last week, the entertainer has come under heavy scrutiny for his philanthropic efforts.

The Oct. 20 Instagram video has been viewed over 100,000 times and has brought the rapper new fame. He captioned the video: “F— going to the strip club. All the n-ggas wit[h] money let’s go to all the homeless shelters and make it rain on the poor people …”

In an interview with FOX 5 Atlanta, Ralo further discloses his reasons for tossing thousands of dollars on the ground, which created the frenzy captured in the video.

“The type of money we spend in these strip clubs. The type of money we spend on clothes and jewelry — that money can be useful.”

Ralo says he decided to toss the money to the needy instead of handing it out because he felt there may have been complaints. He implies that there may have been issues with distributing the donations equally.

“People would have been jumping in line,” he starts. “People would have probably wanted more. It would have been more talking. That would have been more time wasted.”

He adds that just throwing it in the air made the process quicker and that he could go elsewhere and do the same thing.

“… I don’t want to show favoritism to one spot.”

However, when the reporter asks him about a person laughing in the background, Davis shrugs it off.

“… I wouldn’t say it was a moment to laugh. But I can’t control what another person do.”

Ultimately, Davis wants other Atlanta rappers to take his #RaloHomelessChallenge.
