The first official trailer of Marvel’s “Luke Cage” has landed on the web, giving fans a sneak peek into the grimy crime underworld of Harlem, New York City.
After the success of Marvel’s “Daredevil” and “Jessica Jones,” Harlem’s own Luke Cage will get his own show that dives deep into the criminal underbelly of his beloved borough as he tries to fight demons from his past.
The star-studded cast includes Mike Colter as Luke Cage; Simone Missick as Misty Knight; Mahershala Ali as Cottonmouth; Alfre Woodard as Mariah Dillard; and Rosario Dawson returns as Claire Temple.
Marvel’s “Luke Cage” was produced by Cheo Hodari Coker.
All season one episodes will be released Sept. 30.
With the trailer’s release fans are loving the unapologetic Blackness permeating throughout.
In short, #LukeCage is a clear love letter to black nerds who love their blackness as much as they love their comics. I am so HERE for it.
