A Chinese commercial for Qiaobi-brand laundry detergent has social media buzzing for implying that Black skin is dirty and in need of cleaning.
In the short commercial, a Black man is painting a presumed Chinese woman’s house. The Black man is covered in paint—implying that he is dirty.
He makes a move on the woman and then she pretends to welcome his advances. Instantly, she takes a detergent cube, shoves it into his mouth, pushes him into the washing machine and seconds later the Black painter is Asian.
