Oregon Terrorist Ammon Bundy Compares Himself to Rosa Parks, Twitter Snaps Back

The Oregon Standoff leader and son to Cliven Bundy, who infamously attacked federal agents with militia members over a public land dispute, compared his struggle to that of Rosa Parks. Ammon Bundy tweeted this morning that the actions of the Oregon militia are similar to the stand Rosa Parks made during the height of segregation and lynching.

The tweet which has been revealed to be a fake according to Gizmodo was met with outrage by Twitter users. However, this whole ordeal makes for a great teaching moment nonetheless.

The fact is, Bundy and his merry group of white armed terrorists would not have supported the Civil Rights Movement because they are outspoken critics of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Militia member “Fluffy Unicorn” told the Huffington Post on Monday: “The Black Lives Matter movement, they can go and protest, close freeways down and all that stuff, and they don’t get any backlash, not on the level that we’re getting.”

This person with the strange name has been living under a rock for the past year. The BLM has  received the Right’s vitriol all year, racism on social media, and even more police brutality on the streets.

“One could not imagine a group of armed Black men taking over an unoccupied federal building in one of our nation’s cities as they have in Oregon,” Senate candidate Rep. Donna Edwards (D-MD) said to Talking Points Memo. “It is time to tell that tough truth.”

The truth is that Bundy and his group of militia may have terrorized Rosa Parks for taking a stand against the injustices of racism in this country.

What makes this even more strange is that Bundy’s own father, Cliven is a racist who has said derogatory things about Black people in this country. According to a 2014 New York Times interview, this is what Cliven Bundy thinks about Black people:

“I want to tell you one more thing I know about the Negro,” he said. Mr. Bundy recalled driving past a public-housing project in North Las Vegas, “and in front of that government house the door was usually open and the older people and the kids — and there is always at least a half a dozen people sitting on the porch — they didn’t have nothing to do. They didn’t have nothing for their kids to do. They didn’t have nothing for their young girls to do.

And because they were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do?” he asked. “They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom. They got less freedom.”

Fake or otherwise, Twitter did not let this troll and/or Oregon Standoff supporter slide.
