Doodling in a school binder and notebooks is the norm for most kids, but for one 6-year-old, that all too common activity was the beginning of an empire. Essynce Moore, now 13, is the owner of Essynce Couture, LLC, a children’s clothing line.

The vibrant fashionista designs each piece of clothing, buys the fabric, and then sends it off to a tailor to be sewn together. Moore tells Time For Kids, “It’s really fun to see it all come off the paper.”

Moore’s upscale clothing caters to girls (boys clothing is marked coming soon on her website) and is adorned in fun, colorful designs. Her designs have been showcased in both New York Fashion Week and Atlanta Kids Fashion Week, and her website contains products such as lipglosses, lip balms, bath and body oils and cupcake soaps.

In addition to designing the latest kid’s fashions, Moore is a motivational speaker and founded Essynce Couture University (ECU), a program that hosts conferences and workshops that help to empower and inspire children ages 5 to 17 by teaching entrepreneurship, and how to incorporate principals into their daily lives.

“When you know how much of an impact you are making on people’s lives and it’s a good impact, you can’t stop.” Moore told Her Power Hustle during a podcast interview.

The young mogul continues to make a huge impact by implementing an educational component to Essynce Couture. Kids have a chance to be selected and rewarded by Essynce Couture, LLC after uploading their accomplishments (such as report cards, certificates, awards) to any of Essynce Couture’s social media outlets.

Moore’s desire to help others also comes in the form of the website section. “Ask Essynce” is a 30-minute conversation with Moore via an online chat—topics include fashion, business and life. Additionally, she offers kids ages 5 to 17 the opportunity to make money and learn responsibility through Essynce Reps.

As if running an additional company, Essynce Couture Spa and Boutique, hosting conferences and designing clothes weren’t enough, Moore made the time to author her first book, 6th Grade Middle School Chronicles and has aspirations of becoming a successful actor.

The dynamic teen entrepreneur has been awarded with the 2013 Entrepreneur of the Year by the Vashti School for Future Leaders and is a member of the New York Youth Chamber of Commerce.

“Age really doesn’t matter, a lot of people think that ‘when I grow up want to be…’ Why not start now?” Moore tells Time for Kids. “I think it’s really good advice to let kids know you can start at a young age.”
